چکیده
This article addresses the possibility of using robust control theory for preventing earthquakes through fluid injections in Earth’s crust. The designed controllers drive aseismically a fault system to new equilibrium point lower energy by tracking slow reference signal. design is based on reduced-order nonlinear model able reproduce earthquake-like instabilities. Uncertainties related frictional and mechanical properties underlying physical process external perturbations are considered. Two types derived. first one sliding-mode leads local finite-time convergence error rejection Lipschitz w.r.t. time perturbations. second controller linear quadratic regulator (LQR) presents global exponential stability state Both generate continuous signal, attenuating chattering effect case algorithms. developed tested extensively compared basis numerical simulations experiments laboratory. present work opens perspectives application complex geosystems, earthquakes, sustainable production.

This paper addresses an approximation-based anti-windup (AW) control strategy for suppressing the windup effect caused by actuator saturation nonlinearity in proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controlled systems. The effect of actuator constraint is firstly regarded as a disturbance imported to the PID controller. The external disturbance can then be modeled by a linear differential equatio...

Robust Control Synchronization on Multi-Story Structure under Earthquake Loads and Random Forces using H∞ Algorithm
In this paper, the concept of synchronization control along with robust H∞ control are considered to evaluate the seismic response control on multi-story structures. To show the accuracy of the novel algorithm, a five-story structure is evaluated under the EL-Centro earthquake load. In order to find the performance of the novel algorithm, random and uncertainty processes corresponding...
